Mumbai Museum aka Prince of Wales Museum

More properly called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya the main museum of Mumbai is often known by it's old colonial name.

The building was completed in 1914 but it opened to the public much later on 10th January, 1922.

Take bus number 14, 69, 101 or 130 from Victoria Terminus/CST to reach the museum.

Opening Hours: 10:15 am–6:00 pm every day except Monday when it closes.

Entry fees 60 for adults, 25 for students.  Additional fees apply for taking photographs within the museum.

Kipling Connection

Crawford Market shares an interesting connection with that great great representative of the British Empire in India, Mr Kipling. But not as you might have though, the author and journalist Rudyard Kipling, but his father John Lockwood Kipling.
